Please join members of the 2024-25 Parliamentary Internship Programme as they share about their experiences working for Members of the Canadian House of Commons and present the findings of their Programme research papers. This year’s topics include: the impact of MPs’ access to classified materials on parliamentary oversight; the personal impacts of serving as an MP; the impact of media scrutiny on MP behaviour; and the influence of political staff on legislative outcomes. The presentations will be followed by an extended question and answer period on the interns’ research as well as the realities of working in at parliament, career opportunities in politics, and the transition from academia to an applied workplace.
