Welcoming Mike DeGagné as interim Chief Administrator

Following the announcement of President and CEO Gabriel Miller’s departure from the Federation, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dr. Mike DeGagné has been appointed interim Chief Administrator, effective from March 11, 2024. Read more.


Welcoming Barrington Walker as Board Vice-Chair

The Federation's Board of Directors is pleased to appoint Barrington Walker to the role of Vice-Chair (Chair-elect) of the Board, effective immediately. Dr. Walker is the Vice-Provost, Equity and Inclusion at McMaster University, and has been volunteering his time and expertise on the Federation Board since 2021. Learn more.

Join the call for strengthened investment in research

The Federation, as part of the Coalition for Canadian Research, launched the Federal Budget 2024 campaign with the message that the federal government must urgently reinvest in Canada’s research ecosystem. We invite you to add your voice and join the conversation by sending a letter to the elected officials responsible for funding Canadian research and researchers. Take action.


Federation Board elections

The Federation launched an open Call for Nominations between January 25 and February 9, 2024, for two (2) open positions on the Board of Directors. The Board elections will take place during the 2024 Annual Meeting, to be scheduled in early May. An invitation to attend the Annual Meeting will be shared with presidents of all member associations and institutions in the coming weeks. Learn more.

New funding with the Canadian Network of Agencies of Regulation (CNAR) – The CNAR has opened a new round of funding under its Research Program and welcomes proposals from qualified researchers to conduct research in the field of professional regulation in the public interest.
