Congress weekly #2

All together now! In just a few short weeks, we will join together at Congress. In this week’s edition of Congress weekly we’re talking about different ways to attend, enjoy and contribute to Congress at York University.

All about associations

Are you attending Congress as part of an association conference? You can visit the Association conferences page for info at-a-glance on your conference and President’s Reception dates.

Click through to your association’s page for further conference details, contact info, and to download themost up-to-date program. Be sure to check back as we approach Congress to ensure your information is accurate and current.

Extend the invite!

Community pass registration gives folks access to all open events at Congress, including standout favourites like Big Thinking, Career Corner, and Expo. Share this email with peers or direct them to Register to get in on the excitement.

Expo: where scholarly sectors converge

Interested in speaking to publishers, browsing booksellers, and hobnobbing with other book enthusiasts? Expo has it all, with an array of events happening daily in the Expo theatre! Check out the exhibitors and see Expo events.

Big and bold thinking

This week, we rounded out our Big Thinking lineup for Congress 2023 with a newly announced panel, Thinking across differences: Queer, Two-Spirit, and critical disability perspectives.

The panel will convene scholars in discussion on how genuine commitments to learn, grow, and meaningfully engage with each other can lead to changing belief systems and the world itself.

While exploring the full Big Thinking lineup, you can read about how Andrea Davis, Congress 2023 Academic Convenor, is making Big Thinking bold at Congress, via a new Congress blog.

Hungry for more?

It’s only natural that navigating a packed event schedule can make one a bit hungry. We’ve listed all the eateries and spots for a pit stop via Plan your trip: Food services.

Federation releases Congress 2023 EDID action plan

The Congress 2023 EDID Action Plan was released this week as part of the Federation’s biannual EDID Progress Update. The Federation and York University have worked to incorporate EDID into all planning and programming for Congress 2023. The action plan is a valuable resource for associations participating in Congress, and we encourage you to review this document.
