The Federation offers three funding programs to support association programming and facilitate association members' participation at Congress.
Please note that applications must be submitted through your scholarly association.
We are committed to increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization across Congress programming and funding programs, and encourage associations submitting funding applications to do the same. Find out more about our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization.
The Federation is excited to present the Open Programming Fund. This fund aims to support sessions that embody the values of Congress as a place to hold critical conversations, hear from a diverse set of voices, share findings, refine ideas, and build partnerships to shape the Canada of tomorrow.
This fund offers associations with up to $2,500 in financial support for Congress 2025.
Supported sessions must be open events, must be fully integrated into the conference program of every association involved, and will be promoted by the Federation to all Congress attendees.
Associations are encouraged to visit the Organizers Portal for further information on eligibility, evaluation, and how to apply.
The Federation is excited to present the Congress Graduate Merit Award (CGMA) program, designed to support graduate student participation in Congress activities. This merit-based award recognizes and celebrates the academic excellence of deserving graduate students who present their work at Congress. Each award is valued at $500 and aims to help offset the costs associated with attending the event.
Associations planning to hold a conference at Congress 2025 can nominate their most deserving graduate student members by submitting applications for the CGMAs. Once nominations are approved, the Federation will directly grant the CGMAs to the selected students. The awards will be distributed in the summer following Congress 2025.
Interested graduate students should reach out to their associations for more information. You can find details about association contacts here.
Associations can access additional information about the fund and the nomination process for candidates on the Organizers Portal.

The Federation is proud to offer a subsidy program to help offset the cost of child and dependent care for participants in Congress 2025. The Congress Child and Dependent Care Subsidy program consists of a reimbursement for eligible expenses. This program stems from the Federation’s commitment to creating a more accessible, equitable, inclusive, and decolonized Congress experience for all attendees.
All associations who plan to hold a conference at Congress 2025 will receive a set number of subsidies to allocate to their members. Interested Congress 2025 participants should reach out to their associations for more information. You can find details about association contacts here.
