Elections open today, Monday, February 2, 2015 for two positions on the Board of Directors of the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The open positions and candidates are:
Director, Associations (2 open positions)
- Dawn Buzza (nominated by Donna Kotsopoulos, Wilfrid Laurier University)
- Blye Frank (nominated by Don Klinger, Canadian Society for the Study of Education)
- Dominique Marshall (incumbent)
- Julia Wright (nominated by the Nominating Committee)
Director, Institutions (2 open positions)
- Donna Kotsopoulos (self-nomination)
- Michael Owen (incumbent)
- Lisa Young (nominated by the Nominating Committee)
Who can vote? Current Representatives to the General Assembly and members of the Board of Directors are eligible to vote. All eligible voters have received an access code in a recent email message. Please contact Véronique Mallet for further information, or if you cannot locate your access code.
Elections will end at 4:00pm EST on Thursday, February 12, 2015 and results will be made public shortly hereafter.
Following the end of the nomination period, the following two positions were acclaimed and are therefore not part of the elections process:
· Director, Research Dissemination: Michael Sinatra
· Director, Research Policy: Lisa Philipps
The Board will appoint the Chair, Award to Scholarly Publications Program (ASPP) Academic Council normally from within members of the ASPP Academic Council. The following candidate will be recommended by the Nominating Committee:
