Smarter Skills for a Smarter Canada

Davidson pays special attention to the flexibility of options at Canadian universities today, as well as the importance of aboriginal education.

Canadian universities and colleges sign historic agreement

A new framework for collaboration has been signed at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary by Paul Davidson, president of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, and Denise Amyot, president of Colleges and Institutes Canada. The partnership is designed to help Canada succeed in the global knowledge economy by addressing the need for advanced skills in all sectors

SSHRC and IDRC research awards to build more sustainable, prosperous society

Four research teams have been awarded up to $2.5 million each over the next seven years to build safer, more sustainable, and prosperous societies in Canada and around the world. The projects are supported through the International Partnerships for Sustainable Societies (IPaSS), funded by the International Development research centre (IDRC) and SSHRC.

Canadian universities slip in international rankings

Only four Canadian universities made it into the Top 100 universities in the 2014-15 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Simona Chiose of The Globe and Mail points out that most Canadian universities have slipped a few spots since last year’s rankings.
