Association conferences

The Canadian Society for Iranian and Persian Studies (CSIPS)/Societé canadienne des études iraniennes et persanes (SCEIP) invites scholars to submit paper proposals for its inaugural conference, to be held at George Brown College, on May 30, 2025 as a part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences. This one-day conference will formally launch our new Canadian scholarly network, which is initially housed in the Elahé Omidyar-Mir Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies at the University of Toronto. Future projects include a biannual conference, the publication of Iran Namag, a bilingual journal of Iranian Studies, book launches supporting Canadian scholars, and professionalization workshops for emerging scholars.
