Update on ASPP consultations
The Federation is working with Johnston Research Inc. (JRI) to develop a plan to make changes to the ASPP based on the following guiding principles:

Uphold the program’s mandate to “support the publishing of books of advanced scholarship in the humanities and social sciences that make an important contribution to knowledge”;

Support scholarly excellence in both official languages, and ensure that authors seeking to publish in French enjoy the same success rate with the program as those writing in English;

Support Open Access books;

Support equitable access to funding opportunities for all potential applicants;

Promote books written by and with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples; and
-
Support the financial sustainability of Canadian scholarly book publishing.
