With Congress only three weeks away, excitement is mounting. Yesterday, we announced the addition of Governor General David Johnson to the Congress Big Thinking line-up. The Governor General will deliver the opening keynote on May 26. The announcement was covered by The Record.
Alex Usher wrote a blog post on the need for university faculty to be able to counsel their students on careers outside of the academy for Higher Education Strategy Associates this week. In it, he references CFHSS president Graham Carr’s October 2011 piece for AUCC’s University Commons blog on the value of humanities and social sciences degrees.
Quill & Quire’s May issue features a review of In Search of R.B. Bennett by P.B. Waite, an ASPP-funded book. The work is described as bearing “the heft of a full portrait that should be of interest to anyone curious about this still controversial figure.” The book will be published this month by McGill-Queen’s University Press. On online version of the article will be posted online later this month.
