Bridging research and advocacy in the humanities and social sciences

At a time when the world faces complex challenges like climate change, food security, and widening social inequality, the role of researchers in shaping public policy has never been more crucial. There's a pressing need to build stronger connections between research, policy, and society.

The time is now for researchers to raise their voices, advocate effectively, and ensure that decision-makers have access to the best available evidence. How can social scientists and humanities scholars play a bigger role in driving policy change?

On February 28, 2024, we are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming event in collaboration with Evidence for Democracy (E4D). We’re convening a panel of experts to discuss what advocacy in social science and the humanities looks like in today’s policy landscape. Join us to learn about how to engage in public policy, walk through E4D’s new Essential Guide to Science Advocacy, and explore how the Guide can help you make a policy impact with your research.

Our panel will explore public policy as a space where research meets real-world impact. We’re excited to share the stage with Karine Coen-Sanchez, Kaitlin Schwan, Paul Dufour, Chelsea Gabel and Nicole Goodman to discuss their own advocacy experiences and lessons learned.
