Federation, Coalition for Canadian Research launch national Budget 2024 campaign

Last fall, the Federation joined research advocacy organizations across Canada (“the Coalition for Canadian Research”) in calling on the federal government to make a major new investment in Canadian research.

We are now launching our next major advocacy initiative, the Coalition for Canadian Research Federal Budget 2024 campaign. The campaign is now live at researchcoalition.ca and across social media using the hashtag #Coalition4CdnResearch.

This is a national campaign that includes digital advertising, social media, and letter-writing targeted at key decision-makers in the federal Cabinet with the message that the federal government must urgently reinvest in Canada’s research ecosystem.

The campaign builds on our shared advocacy for increased funding to the base budgets of the federal granting agencies and to support graduate students and the next generation of researchers.

This is a crucial moment to rally support for strengthened investment in the humanities and social sciences.
Now is the time to add your voice. Join the conversation and send a letter to the elected officials responsible for funding Canadian research and researchers.

Take action

We invite you to share the campaign with your peers, students, and networks.

For any questions about the campaign and how to participate, please contact Manager, Policy & Research Hannah Paveck at hpaveck@federationhss.ca.

Sincerely,

Gabriel Miller
